Installing Office Apps on iOS and Android Devices: The Quick and Simple Way

On any iOS mobile device

1. Installation

These guidelines are applicable to you if you use Office 365. If you have access to the Office mobile apps, you can work remotely from any location. Sign in easily via your standard Microsoft account, a free school account, or your trustworthy Office 365 work account. And here’s the exciting part: all the amazing extra features await you, as long as you’re rocking a qualifying Office 365 subscription

2. Setting up Office 365 for iOS

To access any Office program, such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, simply click on it. Next, sign in with your Microsoft Account, Office 365 work account, or educational account. In order to continue, tap next.

3. Signing-In to Office

You may be able to upgrade to Office 365 by logging in with a Microsoft account linked to Office 2016 or Microsoft Office 2019. You can either buy a plan or choose “Maybe later,” but accessing the apps is only possible with an Office 365 subscription. On the other hand, choosing the latter will still allow you to use the apps without a subscription.

Click “Yes” to accept or “No” to reject. In order to enable alerts, you can also choose to turn on notifications. Simply press “Not Now” if you don’t like it. After that, click Create and Edit, and your documents should be ready for editing. Your account is automatically added to the Office applications on your device once you have signed in.

4. Enjoy!

After choosing your preferred cloud service, enter your email address. Next, type in your password. After doing this, you will be logged in and able to continue. Finally, you can now enjoy Office 365 on your iOS device!

Quick Tip: You can tap on Open and select Add a Place to add an additional account or cloud service. Meanwhile, users of OneNote should tap on Settings, followed by Accounts.

On any Android mobile device

The app’s extra features can only be accessed with a valid Office 365 subscription and a free Microsoft, work, or school account. However, there are two ways to accomplish this if you are using a Chromebook.

  • Install Office Apps via Google Play or
  • Install Office Apps via the Google Web Store

1. Setting up Office 365 for Android

To begin the initial setup process, select your favorite Office app (Word, Excel, etc.). Then select the “Allow option”. This allows your contacts and files to be accessed by the Office app.

A quick tip: If you’re having issues with Microsoft Office, such as errors and an unprecedented stoppage, you might want to try reinstalling Office 365.

2. Signing-in

Using your Microsoft Account, Office 365 work, or school account is the next step. However, be aware that you might be prompted to upgrade to Office 365 if you sign in using a Microsoft account associated with Office 2016 or Office 2019.

In the event that this occurs, you have the same options as before—that is, buy a plan or choose Maybe later—on an iPhone or iPad. To create a Microsoft account, enter a password when prompted, then proceed with the remaining steps to complete the process.

To incorporate an additional account, select Open, then Add a location, and adhere to the instructions. Click Settings and then Accounts if you use OneNote. Additionally, just like on iOS devices, you can also select which cloud service you want to add.

On any Windows mobile device

1. Just sign in!

When you use your Microsoft account to log into Office, you might receive a notification requesting that you provide proof of age or parental consent. Upon installing an app for the first time, you’ll be asked to log in with your Microsoft account details and password.

An upgrade to Office 365 request might be sent to you if you log into Office 2016 or 2019 using a Microsoft account. Just like with the instructions for using Office on an iPhone or iPad, if this occurs, you can either buy a plan or choose “Maybe later”.

The apps will show up on your Start Screen after they have been installed. After selecting All Apps, select any app—such as Excel—and read the introduction. After selecting whether to use your Microsoft Account or Office 365, click Start. The files will be available on OneDrive under your account.

You have to open the application in question in order to view its files. Just click on your name, followed by the Add Account option, to add another Office 365 or Microsoft account. Once that is done, you can finally log in.
