What are the User’s Options?

After 13 October 2020, all users of the Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac will no longer receive security updates and bug fixes, yet they will still be able to use their current Microsoft Office 2016. If the users wanted to stay up-to-date with all the latest features, they have to upgrade to a newer version of Microsoft Office.

Upgrade options include: 

  • Recommended: Upgrade to Microsoft 365, the subscription version of Office that comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other apps, depending on the plan you choose. With Microsoft 365, the apps are available on your computer and via the browser; one subscription enables you to use them on both your Mac and PC. Office 2016 for Mac license
