Fix Wifi Issues After Updating Windows 10

There are troubleshooting that you can try to do to fix your Wifi when it stops working. Follow these step by step solutions to restore your wifi connection.

Solution 1: Rebooting Your Router and Computer

Restarting your router and computer is one of the common solutions.  To reboot your router, here are the simple steps you can do.

Step 1: Locate the Power button of your router, then turn it off.

Step 2: Wait for at least 5 minutes before turning it on.

Step 3: It’s time to turn on your router.

And if that doesn’t work, it’s time to restart your computer.

Step 2: Click the Power option, then click on the Restart. It will then close all your windows applications opened. So make sure to close all your application before restarting your computer.

Solution 2: Enabling Your Wifi

Solution 3: Check If Your Network Adapter is Enabled

Solution 5: Disabling Your Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6)

If you’re having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi networks after an update, Windows 10 may have activated IPv6. If deactivating this feature won’t affect the functionality of your device, follow these steps to disable the protocol:

Step 4: Scroll down and choose the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) option. If it is checked, click it once to turn it off. If the box is already empty, your device does not support IPv6.

If IPv6 were the reason you couldn’t use your internet connection after Windows 10 updates, this remedy would be ideal.

Solution 6: Reinstalling Your Network Adapter Drivers

Users of Windows 10 who cannot access the internet or are experiencing network connectivity issues should try reinstalling their Wi-Fi drivers.  To make this process simple, all they have to do is follow these instructions!

Step 1: Press Windows + X Key >Click on Device Manager > Expand Network Adapters > Right Click Your Adapter > And uninstall the Device.

Step 2: The device’s driver software should be uninstalled. Before clicking the Uninstall option, make sure the box next to Delete the driver software for this device is checked.

Step 3: Click the Scan for hardware changes button once you’ve uninstalled the device and driver. The default sound drivers will be installed.

Solution 7: Use the Internet Connection Troubleshooter

Windows 10 has several troubleshooters aimed at automatically resolving issues with your machine. This makes solutions more user-friendly. The Internet Connections troubleshooter is confirmed to be capable of addressing and resolving wireless difficulties by users.

Here’s how you can run the troubleshooter.
