When is Windows 11 coming?

On June 24, 2021, Microsoft held an event. Additionally, we anticipated the release of the Windows update for the “Next generation of Windows” on this day.

The start time of Microsoft’s Windows event is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET (Eastern Standard Time). The majority of Windows, Surface, and other Microsoft events do not, however, typically begin at this time.

Yusuf Mehdi, an executive at Microsoft, expressed his excitement for the day, saying he “has not been this excited for a new version of Windows since Windows 95!”

See anything that stands out? We have never before heard Microsoft expressly state that a “new version” of Windows is forthcoming. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m., which is another clue that points to a potential Windows 11 release.

What Windows 11 OS has in store for its users

Considering that Windows 11 is a completely new release, you should be aware of some of the features that Microsoft included.

Large UI updates for Windows are on the way. In addition, Microsoft made significant visual and functional changes when it upgraded Windows 10 to Windows 11.

We say this, but why? Microsoft has been working on a project they have code-named “Sun Valley” for some months. The company describes it as a “sweeping visual rejuvenation of Windows.”

A significant portion of the visual modifications were derived from Microsoft’s work on Windows 10X. The company worked on a lightweight version of Windows 10X that was meant to compete with Chrome OS, but it was abandoned prior to release.

A few of the enhancements consist of:

  • An updated Start menu
  • Brand-new system graphics and icons
  • Updates on File Explorer
  • An end to the icons from Windows 95
  • Rounded corners
  • Windows apps that come installed with updates

The Windows 11 Sun Valley update featured some exciting new features, unlike the Windows 10 21H1 May release, like:

  • Support for DNS-over-HTTPS.
  • Improved battery settings.
  • A cutting-edge disk management program.
  • Improved GPU settings for performance.

Thankfully, Microsoft is still updating the UI of Windows 10

Some of Windows 10’s fundamental components have already begun to be updated by Microsoft. It began with enhancing the operating system’s system icons, which Microsoft dubbed the Fluent Design style.

The appearance of the new icons is simpler and more rounded.

Microsoft has already added the new icons to its Windows taskbar. They demonstrate how even small adjustments to the icons can modernize and alter even the most basic aspects of Windows.

Microsoft appears to be prepared to resolve a number of persistent issues with Windows. Rearranging applications on multiple monitors, launching Xbox Auto HDR on your PC, enhancing automatic Windows backup, and enhancing Bluetooth audio support all seem to be planned fixes by the company.

When does support for Windows 10 end?

Through October 14, 2025, Microsoft will still continue Windows 10 support. With Microsoft gradually transitioning its billion-plus Windows users to Windows 11, you will have roughly four years to get ready (the Windows 10 November 2021 update is currently available).
