Resolved: The installation of Microsoft Office is taking too long.

Your poor internet connection could be the source of Office’s lengthy installation process or the appearance that it halted midway through. If your Office installation is taking a long time or seems to have stopped midway, the problem may arise from a poor internet connection speed. Sometimes, an error notice with the wording “Sorry, it looks like you are on a slow connection” may even appear.

Solutions for Microsoft Office Installation Taking Too Long

You might wish to stop the installation and try again if this occurs. You might attempt the following methods to install Office on a PC:

First choice: restart your machine

It looks like the installer dialogue got stuck. If so, it is possible that the Office has already finished the installation. Before you restart your computer, be sure your Office program is there. If not, consider the other choices listed below.

Option 2: Connect to the internet via a wired link

Your computer may not have been able to connect to the internet via WiFi; try using a wired Ethernet connection instead, and then try the installation again. In general, wired connections are quicker than wireless ones.

Using the Offline Office Installer is Option 3

Microsoft Office

It might not be able to support the installation procedure all the way through if your internet connection is slow. Your connection may be being slowed down by proxies, firewalls, or antivirus software.

Instead, try installing Microsoft Office using the Microsoft  Office offline installer file, which can be downloaded separately. The installer file will still require an internet connection to download, but the installation procedure will not require one.

Option 4: Disable any antivirus programs

Your internet connection may become slower if you use antivirus software. It may be helpful to turn it off or even uninstall it when installing Microsoft  Office. Try this if none of the other choices above worked, but do not forget to reinstall your antivirus software or switch it back on later.

Check your Control Panel’s Action Center for antivirus software if you are unsure which one you have. Pick Control Panel by clicking the Windows Start button. Click Review Computer Status under System and Security, and then click the arrow next to Security. This is where you should be able to get information about your antivirus.

Note: Please visit the website of your antivirus software’s vendor for advice on how to uninstall it.

Option 5: Use the Windows Control Panel to perform an online repair

Pick Control Panel by clicking the Windows Start button. . After selecting Programs and Features, search the list of programs under Uninstall or modify a program for the Microsoft Office package you want to install. Select Change, then Online Repair, and just adhere to the directions.

Option 6: Uninstall Microsoft  Office and Install It Again

If you’re still experiencing the issue, there may be some leftover Microsoft  Office files or folders from a previous installation that are causing the problem.

One option is to attempt a thorough deletion of all Microsoft  Office programs from your computer, followed by a brand-new installation.
