How to Create and Send emails in Outlook

Using Outlook is similar to any email platform. Knowing how to use it to write and send emails is useful. Here’s how.

How-tos for creating and sending emails in Outlook

  1. To begin, choose New Email to create a new message.
  2. Go to the To, Bcc, or Cc text field and type a person or email address.
  3. In the event that the Bcc text box is not visible, see Show, Hide, and view the Bcc
  4. Next, select the Subject box and type your message’s email subject there.
  5. Go to the email message’s body and point your cursor there to begin typing your message.
  6. Once your message is complete, you may click send.

The steps to accomplish that are as follows.

Actions:

  1. Enter the @ sign while you are typing in the email or calendar invite content. After that, only a few letters should need to be entered for the contact’s first and last name; the rest should be filled in on their own.
  2. Outlook will suggest one or more contacts to mention, from which you can choose.
  3. It is important to note that when you mention a contact’s name, their entire name will be mentioned by default. However, if you prefer, you can opt to remove a portion of the name when addressing them. For instance, you can use their first name instead.
  4. The named contact will then be put in the To text area of the email or meeting invitation.

Outlook offers a feature called Focus Inbox to help you concentrate on the most important emails. Your emails are categorized into two groups – Focused and Other. If you find the arrangement of your messages unsatisfactory, you can always reorganize them in your inbox and even select where you want to receive future messages from that sender.

Here are the steps to using Focus Inbox.

  1. Go to the Other or Focused tab and select the desired tab first.
  2. Simply right-click on a message to relocate it, then select Relocate to Other or Move to Focused from the option that appears.
  3. It is also possible to turn your Focused Inbox on and off.
  4. Select View, then Show Focused Inbox to achieve this.
